Classic. Modern.

Looking for authentic vintage decor? Classic Modern has everything you need. Based in London, Classic Modern scouts Europe for just the right retro pieces. Every item has a detailed history you can read about before making your purchase. Some descriptions even come with retro advertisements and room views. My favorite part - the extra large pictures. No more squinting to see what an piece looks like!

I wish it came with the awesome room below...who doesn't love a sunken sitting area with a hanging table!!??

My Belle Library

Since I was a little girl, I wanted a library like the one in Beauty and the Beast - one of my favorite movies. Watching Belle ride the ladder around the library was always so magical to me. Who knew a room full of books could look so beautiful?

Unfortunately, I'm grown-up now and still don't have my golden library. Realizing I probably won't get a fairy-tale castle anytime soon, I've ammended my library dream a little bit. As I was searching for just the right inspiration, I came across a great post on color-coded libraries from our friends over at Twenty TwentyOne. What a great idea! Not only is it beautiful and colorful, but it's also perfect for my OCD boyfriend who loves organization.

Enjoy!

WonderWalls to the Rescue!

I'm back with another wall decor find. This time, it's wallpaper. No, it's not removable so if you're renting your apartment, you probably don't want to put this on your walls. But it's so cute, I just HAD to show it to you.

WonderWalls is a European company with the great idea of making wallpaper gorgeous. Can't argue with that! Many of their prints are flirty, feminine, and elegant. For the guys they have skulls, Dirty Harry, 50's pinup girls, and old cars (Jerome's favorite). If you don't see one you like, create your own. WonderWalls also offers monogrammed paper and photo wallpaper to really show your guests your personal style.

For those who rent and can't use wallpaper, consider getting a 4' x 8' piece of plywood, covering it with wallpaper, and nailing it to the wall to create a focal point. WonderWalls will alter the pattern for you to make it larger or smaller depending on your needs. Can't use nails? Lean it against the wall for an artsy loft look. The paper could also be cut and framed, used as bookcase backing, under a glass table top, or anything else you can think of. The possibilities are endless...

I'm not a fan of the Retro Butterfly wallpaper but I absolutely love the chair with the "face fabric" on the back...how cheeky!

Get Cozy!

Once again I found something great at West Elm. Working in collaboration with Lutz and Patmos, a knitwear company, West Elm has come out with a new offering of warm and cozy throws ($89) and pillow covers ($39).

As soon as I saw them I wanted to grab a cup of hot chocolate and cuddle up in front of the fireplace. The pillow covers even have cute buttons to remind your of your favorite cardigan. There are two patterns (zigzag, cable-knit) and five colors (espresso, oatmeal, feather grey, iron and camel) to choose from.

Getting out the Pumpkins...

I'm not a big Halloween fan nor am I someone who redecorates my house for every holiday. But, there's still something super cute about Pottery Barn's Halloween-themed decor. The pumpkin candles are especially adorable and best of all, you can leave them up till Thanksgiving!

Have a spooky weekend!

Back in 1950...

Once again I've discovered another great place to find vintage decor. 1950 Mid-Century Modern is a small, online shop dedicated to my favorite time period. Not only can you find one-of-a-kind furniture, but they also have a large pottery selection in the Studio 1950 line.

If you find something you like, grab it quick - the inventory is constantly changing.

Room Service Home

I was searching for wood grain accessories to add to my retro-inspired office when I came across these Faux Bois Folders from Room Service Home. As you can imagine, it didn't take much to convince me that I absolutely NEEDED these in order to get my work done!

Of course, now I'm convinced that I NEED the adorable Birdcage Office Caddy and a couple of the Owl Family Pillows.

A few more hours browsing the Room Service Home website and I'm sure I'll NEED something else!!

Dress Up Your Desk

I was browsing the HGTV website when I stumbled upon this cute DIY project. A mom, with the help of her teenage daughter, created this adorable desk skirt to update their old desk.

I love the knee hole they left and the double-sided fabric...what a great idea! Sewing isn't one of my strong points so I have to admit I got a little lost when she mentioned seams and stitching in the instructions, but all-in-all, it looks like a great Saturday project. On the Surface

My search for wall decor continues. Earlier this month, I told you about WallPops, a company that makes removable wall stickers in various patterns and colors - a great solution for renters.

Now I'm introducing you to Surface Collective, a Canadian company whose unique wall tattoos are a "fusion of art and interior design." The extremely creative decals designed by Surface are sure to make all your friends jealous when they see your hip new space. (Do people still say hip?)

My favorites are the deer and the grass blades...so cute!! Aside from their good looks, these removable wall tattoos are affordable and easy to use. Stuck on how to get your decal on the wall? Go to the Surface Collective "how to apply" page for advice.

Browse the Surface Collective website for more graphics.
